Understanding Better to Support Better
Are you the parent of an autistic child who attends a specialized school or an autism-specific classroom? This workshop is for you!
Autisme Montréal invites you to a presentation led by Geneviève Perras, Special Education Technician, designed to help you better understand autism and your child’s needs.
Through accessible explanations, discussions, and concrete examples, you will discover simple strategies that can make a difference in your daily life.
What we will cover
The following topics will be discussed:
- The basics of autism;
- Your child’s needs and how they can influence behaviour;
- The functions of behaviour;
- Basic intervention strategies;
- Behavioural dysregulation: understanding it better in order to respond more effectively.
At the end of the workshop, you will leave with practical tools, ideas to reflect on, and a better understanding of your child’s needs.
