Month of Autism (April)

April:  the Autism Month in Quebec

The month of April is a special moment to inform the public and increase awareness regarding
autism and other autism spectrum disorders. It also represents an opportunity to overcome prejudices, which are the main obstacle to the integration of those people in the community.

Saturday, April 20, 2024: recap of the Charity Challenge at Parc Jean Drapeau

On Saturday, April 20, the Autism Montreal team enthusiastically participated in the Charity Challenge held at Parc Jean Drapeau. Whether covering 21 or 5 kilometers, each participant was driven by a common motivation and shared joy.

We extend our congratulations to all who ran to support Autism Montreal.

This gathering transcended mere racing to become a remarkable demonstration of solidarity and commitment. Participants sported the colors of our organization, thus showing their support for our mission to provide quality services to autistic individuals and their families.

But the adventure doesn’t stop there. Although the Charity Challenge is now behind us, it is still possible to contribute to our cause. Indeed, donations for Autism Montreal are accepted until May 31, 2024. We encourage each and every one of you to share the link to our donation page with your loved ones. Every contribution, no matter how modest, will have a significant impact on our ability to continue and improve our services for autistic individuals and their families: click here to donate.

Once again, thank you immensely for your precious support and commitment to Autism Montreal. Together, we are stronger.

Saturday, April 27, 2024: Carmen-Lahaie Walk for Autism 2024

Saturday, April 27, 2024, was a remarkable day: the Carmen-Lahaie Walk for Autism brought participants together with a shared desire, a shared energy, thanks to the generosity of our partners and the dedicated involvement of our volunteers.

This day was marked by moments of joy and solidarity, animated by the enchanting music of Zuruba Frakastou and the adorable plush toys offered by Editions Milmo. Starbucks Mont-Royal beverages provided hydration for our participants, while APL’s sound infrastructure and the support of the City of Montreal contributed to the smooth running of the event.

Speeches by political representatives, including Minister Lionel Carmant and MPs Elisabeth Prass and Guillaume Cliche-Rivard, underscored the importance of this walk in raising awareness about autism.

With the participation of over 160 people, we sent a strong message of inclusion and support for the diversity of autism. We sincerely thank all those who contributed to making this walk a success.

Together, let’s continue to raise awareness and celebrate the diversity of autism. Thank you to all for your support and commitment to this cause that is close to our hearts.
