Here’s how to apply for the new Canada Disability Benefit.
The Canada Disability Benefit provides direct financial support to people with disabilities between the ages of 18 and 64. It is designed to help low-income individuals who have been approved for the Disability Tax Credit (DTC).
- Individuals who are eligible for the DTC should receive a letter in the mail with a personalized code.
To apply, you will need your personalized code, your social insurance number, and your immigration status in Canada.
- If you did not receive the letter but meet the criteria, follow the above procedure, providing your net income information (line 23600) from your 2024 Notice of Assessment.
- If you are applying on behalf of someone else who meets the criteria, you can follow the same steps, providing a copy of your proof of legal representation to act on the applicant’s behalf.
